WHere are you based?

I am based out of Woodbridge, Virginia and I work within the greater Washington D.C./Northern Virginia area - I’m also available for travel! (I’m looking at you Hawaii residents…)

How long have you been doing this?

I’ve been photographing people for longer than I can remember! Professionally, I’ve been shooting for about 10 years. I am an insured and registered LLC in the state of Virginia.

Do you specialize in any specific area of photography?

I love photographing families and weddings, but you may find a few other big life moments mixed into my portfolio - senior sessions, newborns, product photography, etc. Do you have a unique session in mind? Let’s talk!

How early should I contact you to book my session?

I accept a limited number of sessions each month and book 2-3 months out. It is important to book early in the fall as my schedule fills up quickly and I do not overload my calendar so that I can provide timely delivery to all my clients.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do you require a deposit or retainer?

I accept all major credit cards. A signed contract and your session fee, paid in full, is required in order to secure your preferred date. A retainer fee of 50% is required to secure your wedding date. These bookkeeping items can be done online from the comfort of your home!

What time and day are most sessions conducted?

Ideally, sessions are best scheduled in the late afternoon when the sun is beginning to set. Portrait sessions are conducted during the week, with weekends reserved for weddings and family time.

Do you offer mini sessions?

Yes! Periodically through the year, I do run mini session promotions. Be sure you’re following me on Instagram and Facebook so you don’t miss them - they book FAST!

What am I supposed to wear?

Styling may be the most stressful part of your session prep, but I will hold your hand the entire way! Each client that books with KBP will receive a complete prep guide which includes everything you need to know to successfully style your session. I'm happy to play both photographer and stylist, so don’t hesitate to message me during the process!

How long does the typical session last?

Every session is different, so there isn’t a one-size-fits-all number. On average, my portrait sessions run just a little over one hour. For sessions with small children, I'm often able to wrap up a session in thirty to forty-five minutes. Newborn sessions can run anywhere from one to three hours. This accounts for diaper changes, feedings, and other breaks for baby as needed.

What happens after our session? How long will it take to receive my gallery?

After your session, my fun begins. I aim to present a gallery to my clients within 2-3 weeks from their session date. Why the wait? I hand edit each individual image to make sure it's perfection. If you're anything like me though, you're dying to see results ASAP. Teasers or behind the scene photographs often hit my Facebook wall or Instagram just days after your session. Make sure you’re following!

DO I GET ALL OF THE FILES FROM MY SESSION?

Only the best images are edited and delivered to your gallery - the remaining/discarded files are not available for purchase or viewing. Hiring me is a demonstration of trust that I will choose the very best images of you and your family.
